The Sport button enables the driver to choose between the Normal or Sport program. This reduces, for example, the gearshift time of the SMG transmission.
It is only possible to select the Sport program in the E46 up to 03/03 (5-speed SMG) in the manual mode. The function is also available as of 03/03 (6-speed SMG) in the Cruise (C) mode. This applies to the E46 and the E85.
On vehicle start, the Sport program is always deactivated.
