Assembly mode

The assembly mode must be activated when the wiper arms are being removed or mounted. As the wiper mechanism is at full stretch in the assembly mode, the removal and fitting of the wiper system is made considerably easier.

When the assembly mode is active, the wiper system is operated exclusively between the extended position (lowest reversal point) and upper reversal point. The wiper does not move to any parking positions dependent on the wiper setting.

Note

To prevent damage caused by incorrectly mounted wiper arms, the wiper arms may only be mounted when the wiper system is in assembly mode and in the extended position. Observe the setting notes in the repair instructions!

Assembly mode

Activation or deactivation of the assembly mode is via the service function ”assembly mode” in the diagnosis system.

After selection of the service function, the current status of the assembly mode is indicated first. Depending on this, the assembly mode can then be activated or deactivated.

After completion of repair work on the wiper system, the assembly mode must be deactivated without fail!

As a safety function, the assembly mode is automatically deactivated by the wiper module when the vehicle has driven a distance of 6 miles (10 kilometers).
