Central locking system and antitheft alarm (DWA)
If water enters the A1 general module (BC1) or the door locks, various sporadic faults can occur:
1. Central-locking system: Closing / (convenience) opening independently
2. Central-locking system: Closing / opening not possible with key
3. Antitheft alarm (DWA): Self-activation of antitheft alarm, self-deactivation of antitheft alarm
The driver's door is unlocked by turning the driver's door lock switch to 'unlock'. When the vehicle is locked and secured, the other lock switches assume the 'lock' state.
The other doors are unlocked by again turning the driver's door lock to 'unlock'.
By turning the passenger's door lock to 'unlock', all other doors are unlocked irrespective of the previous status.
Turning the driver's door lock or the passenger's door lock switch to the 'lock' position will lock all doors
Turning the driver's door lock or the passenger's door lock to 'lock' twice within 1 second will lock and secure all doors.

By turning the passenger's door lock to 'unlock', all other doors are unlocked irrespective of the previous status.

Turning the driver's door lock or the passenger's door lock to 'lock' twice within 1 second will lock and secure all doors.
Only the driver's door is opened by pressing the unlock button on the radio remote control. If the vehicle is secured, the other lock switches assume the 'lock' state.
All the doors are opened by pressing the unlock button on the radio remote control once again.
All doors are locked and secured by pressing the lock button on the radio remote control.
Pressing the unlock button on the radio remote control unlocks all doors irrespective of the previous status.
All doors are locked and secured by pressing the lock button on the radio remote control.
When the vehicle is in single door unlocking mode, locked or unlocked from the inside, all doors can be unlocked by pressing the center lock button.
When the vehicle is in single door unlocking mode, locked or unlocked from the inside, all doors can be locked by pressing the center lock button.
Pressing the center lock button will not unlock a car that was locked with a key or the remote control.
On some country versions, the hazard warning lights will flash as confirmation for a lock/unlock check.
If a DWA alarm is fitted, a horn signal indicates incorrect locking.
The fuel filler cap is locked when the car is locked and secured.
The trunk lid is locked under the same conditions as for the passenger's door.
The trunk lid can be opened by pressing the button.
The vehicle is locked centrally on exceeding a driving speed of 4 km/h.
The car can be unlocked by means of the center lock button.
When the ignition switch is in position 1 or 2 and the vehicle is in selective unlocking mode or is unlocked, the doors are unlocked and the hazard warning lights are activated when the crash sensor is triggered.
The central locking system function is inhibited until one of the following inputs is recognized:
Driver's door opening switch, passenger's door opening switch, hazard warning lights switch or center lock button.
