Air conditioning system pressure sensor (R50)

Air conditioning system pressure sensor

Function

The air conditioning system pressure sensor enables safety cutout if the pressure becomes too high or too low. The pressure sensor is also used to monitor the refrigerant if additional cooling is required. The sensor enables precise control of both the air conditioning system and the cooling blower.

Installation location

The air conditioning system pressure sensor is located in the air conditioning system high-pressure pipe.

Failure

If the air conditioning system pressure sensor fails, the engine control module is unable to detect the overpressure in the refrigerant level. If a fault in the pressure sensor is detected in the DME, the compressor can no longer be activated.
