Power window convenience operation (R50)

Power window convenience operation

Function

Automatic convenience locking

The automatic convenience locking can only be used if the car has no sliding sun roof and anti-trapping strips are fitted.

Pressing the locking button on the remote control for longer than one second closes all the windows. The windows continue to rise when the button is no longer pressed. Pressing the unlock button once again stops the windows. If the unlock button is pressed for longer that one 1 second while an automatic convenience locking operation is running, the windows stop. After a 1 second delay, the convenience ventilation starts automatically.

If one of the anti-trapping strips fails or one of the doors is open, the convenience locking does not work.

If the control module does not receive a 'lock' signal from the windows following the convenience locking, the locking is incorrect.

If something is trapped in a window during the convenience locking, all the windows are lowered and the locking is incorrect. This is indicated by an acoustic signal.

Manual convenience locking

Turning the driver's door lock or the passenger's door lock for longer than 1 second raises all the windows and the sliding sun roof closes step by step. Letting go of the key interrupts the closing of the windows and sliding sun roof.

If the windows and the sliding sun roof are not fully closed after the closing operation, the locking is incorrect.

Convenience ventilation

Operating the main unlocking switch, the lock switch or the unlock button on the radio remote control for longer than 1 second opens all the windows and the sliding sun roof. Letting go of the switch or button interrupts this movement.

The convenience ventilation does not work when a door is open.
