Antitheft alarm system (DWA)
Arming the alarm system
The alarm system is armed by locking the driver's door or the passenger's door or by pressing the locking button on the remote control. This activates all the alarm system sensors.
Turning the driver's door lock or the passenger's door lock switch to 'lock' twice within 1 second will arm the alarm system. The interior and inclination sensors are disarmed. This disarming avoids false alarms when the car is parked, for example, in a garage on an inclined surface or is being transported.
Pressing the unlock button on the remote control disarms the alarm system.
Unlocking the driver's door or the passenger's door disarms the alarm system.
The alarm system is triggered when any of the following states are detected:
- Ignition ON (when alarm system is not disarmed)
- Engine hood OPEN
- Trunk lid OPEN
- Driver's door OPEN
- Passenger's door OPEN
- Inclination sensor triggered (when armed)
-Interior protection triggered (when armed)
The anti-theft alarm horn is sounded and the warning lights flash. The hazard warning lights flash for 30 seconds after the triggering or until the alarm system is disarmed or re-armed.
