Controller
The Controller is the central operating control.
Brief description of components
Controller
- The Controller is on the front end of the armrest between the driver's seat and front passenger seat. It is connected to the centre console control panel module (BZM) by a ribbon cable. The Controller's function is not linked to the BZM. The System K-CAN bus and the positive and negative power supply leads are simply looped through the BZM. The positive and earth connections to the controller are split between three separate leads in order to keep the continuous current load at the connector within the permissible limits.
- The Controller is operated by means of a rotary push button which can also be moved in any of 8 horizontal directions from its resting position.
- Variable tactile feedback for Controller rotation When the Controller is rotated for the purposes of selection functions it provides tactile (i.e. tangible) feedback. Inside the controller there is a DC motor which is controlled by pulse-width modulation (PWM) signals.
