Repair instruction for 'water entry between the front and middle convertible top seals'

Complaint

Water entry at the centre of the side window.

Cause

On vehicles produced between 02.04.2004 and 18.02.2005, a collision between the front and middle convertible top seals can occur. See Fig. 1.

Repair instruction

Check the setting of the side window and the convertible top seals and adjust if appropriate.
On vehicles produced between 02.04.2004 and 18.02.2005, the convertible top seal must be replaced.
BMW part no. 54 34 7 177 319/320.

Series solution

Since 18.02.2005, modified convertible top seals are fitted.
