Repair instructions for 'rattling/ringing noise from the area of the luggage compartment'

Complaint

While the vehicle is being driven, rattling/ringing noise from the area of the luggage compartment

Cause

In the left-hand area of the luggage compartment. The ringing noise comes from shims on screw connections.

Hydraulic pump for convertible top: thread of the upper retaining element torn.

Repair instruction

1. In the luggage compartment, fold the carpet back on the left-hand side
   
2. Check the screw connections of the hydraulic pump for the convertible top
   
3. Remove the loosened retaining element and check the thread
   
4. If the thread is damaged, recut the inner thread
   
5. Screw in a new connecting element and tighten with the prescribed tightening torque
