Repair instructions regarding squeaking noise when convertible top is open

Complaint

The customer complains about a squeaking noise while the vehicle is being driven with the convertible top open.
The noise arises between the convertible soft top linkage and the rear side panel.

Cause

In rare cases, there can be contact between the impact damper on the convertible soft top linkage and the vehicle body.

Repair instruction

Check whether there is contact between the impact damper and the side panel. In the event of contact, apply adhesive felt tape to the corresponding position. See Fig. 1.
