The customer complains about grating noises from the area of the roof panel and guide rails.
Under certain circumstances, unfavourable material pairing in between the roof panel can lead to grating noises. The felt strip intended to dampen the noise might have slipped or is completely missing.
Open the sliding roof half way to get access to the contact area. Treat the affected position with teflon spray or Carbaflo. See Fig. 1.
The guide rails must not be removed under any circumstances. These have been calibrated at the factory.
Use teflon spray or Carbaflo to treat the contact area of the roof panel.
