Repair instruction regarding grating noise from the sliding sunroof panel

Complaint

The customer complains about grating noises from the main bow strut of the sliding sunroof panel.

Cause

A possible cause is that the guide pipe of the climbing cable is making contact with the sliding sunroof panel. See Fig. 1.

Repair instruction

Open the sliding roof about half way and remove the convertible cover from the front and main bow strut.
By carefully bending the guide pipe and placing felt strips underneath, prevent the guide pipe from colliding with the main bow strut. See Fig. 2 and Fig. 3.
Then, refit the convertible cover and check the repair.
