Retainer of front roof shell towards middle roof shell
Adjusting the retainer of front roof shell towards middle roof shell
- Check the position of the locking pins in the retainer for the front roof shell: see Fig. 1. The locking pin must not protrude from the retainer.
If the protrusion is too small or if the locking pin even protrudes, continue with point 2.
- Remove the headlining of the front roof shell.
- Mark the position of the retainer in the roof shell with a felt pen.
- Remove the three mounting bolts of the retainer. See Fig. 2.
Important: the height position of the detent specified by barrel bolts must not be changed!
- Remove the retainer and the clips of the guide pipe.
- Loosen the Torx screws (E) at the retainer. See Fig. 2.
- Turning the retainer moves the locking pin in relation to the housing. In this case, turn the retainer 1-2 revolutions so that the locking pin moves further into the retainer.
- Retighten the Torx screws at the retainer.
- Close the roof and observe the movement of the retainer. Reopen the roof gradually until the retainer can only just be moved.
- Bring the retainer to the marked position and only secure with the front bolt (C). See Fig. 2.
- Fully close the roof and secure the rear bolt (B). See Fig. 2.
- Move the roof into the intermediate position and secure the side bolt (D). See Fig. 2.
- Reinstall the headlining.
