Repair instruction for 'grating noises at the seal of the door gap towards the roof'

Complaint

Grating noises while the vehicle is being driven from the area of the top door gap seal towards the vehicle roof.

Cause

Contact surface of the flock-coated door gap seal to the outer roof panel.

Repair instruction

An all 4 doors, fit a new door gap seal.

Note

All new seals are marked with the lettering: >>EPDM+Polyesterflock<<

The new seals may no longer be treated with Carbaflo!

After removal and before installation of the new seal, thoroughly clean the contact surface at the roof with silicone remover a number of times (BMW part number: 51 91 9 057 943).
Make sure that a fresh cloth is used for each cleaning operation.

The familiar silicone remover may no longer be used here!
