CAN Bus DDE 4.1

Data exchange between the following control units takes place via the CAN bus:

• DDE master control unit
  
• Automatic transmission control unit (EGS)
  
• Instrument cluster control unit
  
• ABS/ASC control unit
  
• Steering angle sensor
  

Troubleshooting

The following fault code is detected concerning the CAN bus:

• Fault code 1E00, "CAN-bus"
  Is set in the case of faults in communication with the instrument cluster control unit, ABS/ASC control unit, steering angle sensor or the EGS.
  Consequence: The functions whose messages are affected by failure of the CAN-bus fail, e.g. ASC and engine drag torque control.
  CAN faults can also be caused by faulty voltage supply or poor ground connections.
