The Common Rail system is supplied via a pre-supply pump located in the fuel tank. The DDE switches the pump on and off by means of a relay. The pre-supply pump delivers fuel through the fuel filter to the high pressure pump.
The relay and relay activation are monitored, but not the pump itself.
