The DDE control unit is informed of the position of the accelerator pedal by means of electrical signals generated by the pedal position sensor.
The pedal position sensor is designed as a twin potentiometer and features three connection pins per potentiometer.
The potentiometers take their 5 V power supply and earth connection from the DDE control unit.
Depending on the angle of rotation, they return different measured voltages to the DDE control unit. This control unit evaluates the measurement voltage and converts the voltage value into pedal position sensor setting as a percentage.
The idle and full throttle positions are detected by way of the voltages of the pedal position sensor.
