ULF MOST E60, E87, E90: overview of fault patterns

The following fault patterns are covered in this test module:

Diagnosis

• The ULF control unit cannot be activated via diagnosis.
  

Bluetooth link / Bluetooth connection

• The mobile phone cannot be connected to the vehicle.
  
• After switching on terminal R, the mobile phone is not automatically reconnected with the vehicle.
  
• After switching on the mobile phone off and on, it is not automatically reconnected with the vehicle.
  
• After switching the Bluetooth functionality off and on at the vehicle display, the list of connected mobile phones is not correctly displayed.
  
• The Bluetooth connection between the mobile phone and vehicle is lost at regular intervals.
  
• The Bluetooth connection between the mobile phone and vehicle is lost once.
  
• The call breaks down after approx. 10 seconds (sporadically).
  

Telephony

• In the status bar, the mobile phone name is replaced by the message ”Scan network” and the aerial symbol is not displayed.
  
• Very poor network reception.
  
• Sporadically, the telephone system cannot be operated at the display.
  
• The mobile phone cannot be operated.
  
• After dialling, no call setup possible.
  
• The telephone call in the hands-free mode is switched to privacy mode without the user requesting this.
  
• The telephone call in the privacy mode is switched to hands-free mode without the user requesting this.
  
• Change over from the hands-free mode into the privacy mode does not work with the handsfree button.
  
• The phone number is not transferred to the called party. (call via hands-free system)
  

Voice quality / audio output

• No hands-free mode possible.
  
• The caller hears no voice signal.
  
• The caller is not heard.
  
• Voice quality: voice very quiet
  
• Sporadically, the voice of the caller is incomprehensible and metallic.
  
• Poor voice quality: other information
  
• Sporadic call interruptions
  
• Poor voice quality: brief call interruption or voice seems chopped.
  

Snap-in adapter / eject box (base plate)

• The mobile phone is not charged.
  
• When the mobile phone is placed in the snap-in adapter, the displayed signal strength falls or disappears.
  

Telephone book

• The telephone book is not transferred.
  
• The telephone book is only partially transferred.
  

SMS

• A new SMS is not displayed as new on the connected mobile phone.
  

Telephone control via voice input

• During the function ”Read out telephone book”, the system is stuck until the voice control button on the steering wheel is pressed again.
  
• Abort on reading out the telephone book.
