The Central Information Display is a folding LC display. With the adjustment unit, the Central Information Display is automatically placed in the display position when the controller is unfolded. A defined position is set by means of an electric drive. Assumption of the display position can also be triggered manually by pressing a button.
If the display is not in the display position, an analog clock is visible.
The adjustment unit of the Central Information Display consists of:
The LC display is fitted in a case secured to an axle. The case on the axle can be swivelled by means of the electrical drive between 0 degrees and 90 degrees. The case and drive are fitted in a recess (holding frame).
The microswitch fitted in the controller compartment closes an electric circuit when the controller is unfolded. This earths the electronic drive in the adjustment unit and the LC display is unfolded.
The button installed in the dashboard also closes an electric circuit when pressed. This earths the electronic drive in the adjustment unit and the LC display is unfolded or folded up.
Adjusting the Central Information Display is also possible without the ignition key being in the ignition lock.
The operating voltages for the Central Information Display (CID) adjustment unit are generated from the vehicle voltage and monitored for under- and overvoltage.
Undervoltage: In the case of a vehicle voltage < 9 V, the Central Information Display adjustment unit is switched off. With a vehicle voltage > 10 V, it is switched on again automatically.
Overvoltage: In the case of a vehicle voltage > 17 V, the Central Information Display adjustment unit is switched off. With a vehicle voltage < 16 V, it is switched on again automatically.
Automatic unfolding: The Central Information Display is automatically unfolded when the controller fitted in the centre console is unfolded.
For the LC display, the following positions are defined:
When terminal R is disconnected, the Central Information Display is always folded up.
Folding up and down with button: The LC display can also be folded up and down using the button on the dashboard. If the LC display is folded up while the vehicle is being driven, it remains closed when the next trip is started. The LC display must then be unfolded using the button or by unfolding the controller.
