Operational test of coach door lock

On the Rolls-Royce RR01, the coach door lock ensures that the rear doors cannot be opened from the inside while the vehicle is being driven.

If one of the behind doors is opened, the vehicle cannot be driven faster than 25 km/h.

Checking with vehicle stationary:

It can be checked whether the child lock motor in the lock, which mechanically disengages the inside door handlefrom the lock, is working correctly or whether this operation can also be undone.

What is checked is whether the coach door lock is engaged automatically when the vehicle is being driven or whether driving faster than 25 km/h with an open door is excluded.

NB:

The value 6 km/h is the road-speed value on the CAN bus. Due to the instrument activity, it will not be possible to monitor this value exactly in the instrument cluster.

Warning:

The stronger the acceleration or the stronger the accelerator pedal ispressed (especially in the case of kick-down) the more dramatic is the difference between braking and accelerating. In this case, loose objects in the vehicle must be secured or held tightly!
