A commercially available video recorder can be connected in the vehicle. The rear compartment monitor is switched over from TV mode to video mode without the need for further operation by the signal selection function at the video input during video recorder playback. Brightness and contrast are set directly on the rear compartment monitor.
Video recorder playback on the on-board monitor is only possible after prior selection in TV mode (between program 30 and 1). The sound from the video recorder is then additionally switched via the on-board speakers.
