Pedal position sensor
This sensor is a dual Hall sensor that sends a processed analog signal corresponding to the driver's wish to accelerate to the engine control unit. The accelerator sensor has two outputs. These outputs are used to implement a safety strategy for the function of the electronic accelerator pedal. In cars with CVT gearbox, the engine control unit detects a kick-down condition by measuring the change in the accelerator pedal setting.
The sensor is located on the accelerator pedal.
